Over 4500 hours in-service, certified public safety training.
I have a proven track record of successfully rebuilding police and fire departments that were in trouble. The departments normally needed to be improved both from within and without. The employees in public safety and the private sector first needed to have respect for the organization they worked for and themselves. I gave them this. A major part of building the trust of the department in the community was a public relations campaign that I learned applied to the private sector very well.
More than once while I was in the private sector I was given the task of building the image of the company to help in an acquisition by a larger company or for a major change on direction of the company.
My individual contact with the general public has always been a strong part of my career and my personal life. I have the ability to gain the confidence, respect and support of those who I have contact with.
I frequently would be assigned to oversee several departments and build each department at the same time. For example I would manage police, fire and emergency medical in government or office staff, landscaping and maintenance in the private sector. My ability to multi task was often used by my superiors applying my skills to duties that were far beyond my job description. I would conduct the extra tasks while completing my assigned duties. I learned to perform at the level above my assignment with no concern for credit for the job as long as it in the best interest of the organization I represented.
My hope is to find a position where I can continue using my abilities in a position that they will not only be of value but that were I can increase my skills. A position where I can work with an organization or company and with people who want to be the best at what ever they do.

I was a guest instructor and member of the Metro Tech VIP Police Academy advisory board that prepared the students in the vocational school to enter one of the Public Safety professional fields.
One program of instruction was executive protection and from this I was asked to provide executive protection for a client. I then began providing the service for high risk visitors from around the world to the Phoenix area and clients from the entertainment and movie industries.
It became necessary to have a trained team for high risk assignments and I used my top students from my classes which often were my two oldest sons until they left for Careers in the military. The assignments became more and more diversified including Extras Coordinator for the movie "Beyond the Law" staring Charlie Sheen in which I recruited 800 Harley Davidson riders for an all day shoot and keeping 200 of them for almost 3 months. My job was to keep them "Sober, Straight, Unarmed and Happy"
When I decided to withdraw from the wide variety of assignments I only continued with consulting clients on security and safety for the office, home and while traveling. Most clients were corporate accounts and often the company officials believed the service was needed and the person being protected was not to know about the service. My job was to accomplish the assignments while blending into the woodwork so no one would know the service had been provided. I have not accepted any clients sense 1998.

A background investigation may show the term of employment for the Alaska State Troopers and the term of employment shown by the retirement board for employees of the State of Alaska may not be the same.
In 1974 I joined the Alaska State Troopers and started the 23rd recruit academy. After the last day of the training and the day before graduation my sister in law streaked the academy dorm. The academy commander terminated me. Three months latter Col. Dankworth, Director of the Alaska State Troopers heard of this and with the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety not only reinstated me but ordered all memos and record of the termination be removed from the files. As a result the only record that the incident happened is that the Retirement records show a break of three months in my employment. I was told that I was not required to list the termination for any reason in the future. I feel I should inform you of this.
